Algorithmic Engagements
Algorithmic Engagements (PA - Potyczki Algorytmiczne - in Polish) is an annual Polish competition open for everyone. It consists of several online rounds and the final round, which is held in Zielona Gora. In the online round each task is graded between 0 and 10 (in PA 2001-2006 in MAIN the grading is, however, between 0 and 100). Tasks in online rounds are divided into two categories: A and B. Top finishers from category B receive T-shirts and top finishers from A+B participate in the finals. The final round as an ACM-style contest.
Before year 2005 there was a similar contest held - Pogromcy Algorytmow. Because of similar rules (the main difference is the lack of the final round) and same abbreviation in Polish both of these contests are in the same category in MAIN.
Attention: In the oldest versions of the contest (the ones that took place before year 2003) some time limits are (much) smaller than 1 second. Well, the computers are much faster now than they were a few year ago...
